Now renewing your automobile tag can be as easy as picking up the telephone! Mobile County is the first county in Alabama to allow customers to renew their tags with credit cards by phone or mail.
Customers can call 574-5555 to order tags by phone. Phone orders will be accepted until the last business day of the renewal month.

TO RENEW YOUR TAG BY PHONE YOU WILL NEED:
 
(Please have this information ready when you make the call)

· MasterCard or Visa Number (we cannot accept any other credit cards)
· Automobile Tag Number
· Alabama Driver's License Number
· Courtesy Renewal Notice
· Address and Daytime Phone Number

Customers renewing tags by phone will be charged a 2.3% ($1.50 minimum) 
fee for each tag or decal renewed, as well as a $2.50 mail fee for new metal plate. 
A mail fee of only $1.00 will apply for customers receiving decal only. 
Boat renewal customers will also be charged a  2.3% ($1.50 minimum) fee 
for each decal renewed, as well as a $1.00 mail fee.
